Created in Adobe Acrobat 6.0. Erastus Bingham, a descendant of Thomas Bingham of Connecticut, was born 1798 in Concord, Vermont. In 1833 he and his wife, Lucinda Gates, joined the Mormon Church and relocated with their children, first to Far West, Missouri (1836); then to Hancock County, Illinois (1839); Nauvoo (1845); and finally Salt Lake, arriving there in September 1847. This genealogy encompasses all of Erastus's descendants through the fourth generation, including descendants on the distaff side. Images of Binghampton: A History

Sample Pages

Images of Binghampton: A History, published electronically by Our Families Roots Organization (Ogden, Utah, August 2004) 24 pages and 21 images. Created in Adobe Acrobat 6.0. Binghampton was a thriving Mormon farm village settled by the Bingham family around 1900. This community covering a significant amount of land now known as Tucson, Arizona. Today we would recognize the area bounded by Country Club and Swan roads to the west and east, Fort Lowell to the south, and land just north of the Rillito River. During the Fall 2000 semester, a group of students were assigned to build a web page for Roxanne Mountford's English 306 course. Our group consisted of three individuals; Joan Sinema, Clay Lawrie, and Erica Magallanez. In our search for a topic that would have some historical significance to the community of Tucson, Arizona, we decided to build our web site on the Mormon settlement of Binghampton. Fortunately, we were able to interview Millard and Pearl Bingham, Boyd and Jeanette Done, and Duane Bingham; who each had been raised in Binghampton. Library # 6562

Erastus To You

Sample Pages

Erastus To You, compiled by Leon Goodman, published electronically by Our Families Roots Organization (Ogden, Utah, August 2004) 36 pages and 20 images. Created in Adobe Acrobat 6.0. There had been three generations of Binghams living in America since 1722, prior to Erastus . The man we will start with was the great patriarch Erastus Bingham Sr. Erastus joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) only three years after the Prophet Joseph Smith had organized the Church on instructions from the Lord. His descendents cannot be calculated, but I would estimate that his progeny numbers about 30,000 people. The following articles are in the words of people who came before me and I will only tie in the last generations to give you an idea where you fit in the family. Library # 6564
