Mary Etherington McFarland
Mary Etherington McFarland was born July 19, 1862 at West Weber, Weber County, Utah. Sister McFarland was appointed second counselor to President Margaret Ann Hogge, of the West Weber Ward Relief Society June 24, 1909, acting until June 1911. She was then appointed first counselor to President Harriet Hadley, where she served for the next ten years. She was also first counselor to President Mary 8. Gibson until April 24, 1927, making a total of 17 consecutive years as a counselor in the Relief Society. She also spent several years as a visiting teacher. (see history in pioneer section)
