Bishop 1910-1916

George William Etherington, a son of Thomas and Sarah Wheeler Etherington was born October 31, 1879 at West Weber, Weber County, Utah

He was married to Hannah Clerk on March 7, 1900, at Salt Lake City. They were the parents of the following children: Sarah, Thomas W., John A., Walter R., George L., Myrtle, Lawrence C., Alta, Reta, Charles W., and Kate C. Etherington.

He served as a missionary to the Southern States from 1905 to 1907.

When William C. Hunter was appointed Bishop in 1909 Brother Etherington was sustained as first counselor.

He was Bishop of the ward from March 27, 1910 to 1916. His counselors were: Hans F. Petterson, George A. Heslop and Jacob P. Gibson.

The Etherington Family moved to Heyburn, Minidoka County, Idaho. He was a farmer all his life.

After the death of his wife he was married to Jane Carter.

He died on September 22, 1948, at Twin Falls, Twin Falls County, Idaho.
