Marvirds Helois Paxman Johnson

Marvirda Helois Paxman was born in American Fork, Utah, a daughter of Edwin W. Paxman and Ester Christensen, May 24, 1914.

She attended church in the American Fork Second Ward.

She graduated from the American Fork High School in 1932. Then attended the L.D.S. Business College for 8 months.

She taught Sunday School in the second Ward.

She worked in the office for Wasatch Dairy in Provo and in the office of J. C. Penny Company at American Fork, Utah just before her marriage and for a while after.

She married Verland D. Johnson on August 30, 1935 in the Logan Temple.

Helois says, "The most outstanding experience of my life was knowing Verland and having four wonderful children born to us.

"I have taught Sunday School in the Lindon Ward. I have taught Mutual and been a counselor, also president of the Y.W.M.I.A. I have taught a class and been counselor in Primary. I was secretary and later president of the L.D.S. Girls Committee here in Lindon. At present, I am working as Work Director for the Relief Society and as a Visiting Teacher. Also I am Town Clerk and Treasurer of Lindon.

"J. Bracken Lee, W. D. Chipman and I signed the papers in 1950 that made Lindon a Third Class City. I held that position until Jan. 1953.

"Mean while I was employed by the Utah power and Light (Nov. 1952) and still work there as Division Accountant.

"Feb. 16, 1957, C. Reif Wadley and I were married and we continue to live in our Lindon home.

"With his help we have sent two children - Douglas and Kathleen - on L.D.S. missions. All four of the children have graduated from the Brigham Young University. Douglas holds a Masters Degree as C.P.A.

"All four have been married in the temple and are carving out church responsibilities of their own.

"I enjoy my work both in the church and business."
