Joey Bowers Wyler Johnson

Joey Bowers was born at Nephi, Utah, 19 August 1909 to Abraham James Bowers and Christina Sinclair Bowers, She was the thirteenth child in a family of fourteen children. Eight boys and six girls.

She attended school at Nephi and I think her childhood must have been a delightful one with so many older brothers and sisters to adore her. She was baptized 2 September 1917 and was sealed to her parents 21 November 1919.

In her home she was taught the art of cleanliness and order and how to do the very many household tasks necessary to keep a home and family.

She married Robert Wyler and there were four children born to this union, three daughters and one son. Later she was left to rear these four children alone. She came to American Fork and obtained employment at the Utah State Training School and at a dance or social for married folks or widows and widowers, she met Cyril who had just buried his wife a few months before.

They enjoyed a courtship of dancing and dinner occasionally and were married 23 March 1963 at Nephi, Utah at her brothers home.

Joey is still working at the Training School and they have a nice home at 560 North 100 East American Fork, Utah.
