Johnson Family Reunion To Seattle Washington

The first annual Harold Charles and Eva Theona York Johnson Family Reunion was held from July 17-23 in Tacoma, Washington, with Gary and Annabeth TomIinson as the host family.

Those in attendance were Berniece, Clarence and Scott Kirkwood; LaRue, Robert, Gordon, Charles, Carla, and Gaylynn Walker CaroIeen and Glade, Ollie Jean, Mark, Steven and Lynette Johnson; Byron, Kay, Brock, Nicole, Jennifer and Brandi Johnson; and Gary, Ann, Leanne, Sue and Thomas Brent Tomlinson.

Our first outing after everyone arrived was a trip to Rainer National Park. We packed a picnic lunch (with the help of Col. Sanders) and had a fun day together hiking, eating, and enjoying the beautiful area around Mt. Rainier.

The next day we all headed for Seattle (minus Gary who had to work). Our flrst stop was at, the Ballard Locks to see the fishing boats, yachts, and other boats transfer between Lake Washington and Puget Sound and to be a little envious of the "Good Life"? We then went to Seattle Center and had lunch at the Food Circus which is an International Restaurant where one can choose any kind of food they want from many different countries. Those who hadn't been to the Space Needle then went to the top and then after we all got back to Earth we rode the Monorail to downtown Seattle and went to the Pike's Place outdoor market - which is an educatlon in itself. It was fun and we were all exhausted by the end of the day.

Wednesday morning we packed up all the campers and food and kids and headed for Port Angeles, Washington, where we spent the night at a KOA campground. We had a great time there just visiting and relaxing and enjoying each other's company. The highlight of that day was a somewhat unorthodox basketball game between the older and younger generations of the male side of the family. They had a great time! We also had a lot of fun telling "War Storles" and reminicing around the campfire that night.

Early the next morning everyone but Kay, Ann and Brandi (who was ill) boarded the Ferry for a ride to Victoria British Columbia, Canada. A great day was had by all sight-seeing and looking around the beautiful city of Victoria. There were a few anxious moments while they couldn't find Steven but all made it back to Port Angeles on the Ferry at around 3:30 p.m. and then we all headed back to Tacoma.

Friday the Walkers and the Glade Johnson's Headed for Idaho and then on Saturday the resat of the family departed (and the Tomlinson's were sad to see it all come to an end). It was really a great time and we are looking forward to next summer and another fun time together.
