PLAIN CITY - Margaret McFarland Thompson, 80, of 4829 W. 1500 N., died Saturday, June 24, 1978 in the McKay Dee Hospital.

She was born July 29, 1897, in West Weber, a daughter of James R. and Mary Eliza Ehterington McFarland.

On Dec. 22, 1915, she married Gordon F. Thompson in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple.

She was a relief society president, a primary, MIA and relief society teacher, and had lived in West Weber, Hansen, Idaho and Plain City.

Surviving are her husband of Plain City; five sons and one daughter G. Earl Thompson of Salt Lake City, James Lyle Thompson of Ogden, Byron H. Thompson; of Warren, Grant Thompson of Brigham, Darrel

Thompson of Bountiful and Mrs. A. Lee (Marilyn) Tribe of Ogden; 32 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Thomas A. McFarland of West Weber and Mrs. Olive Maw of Plain City.

Funeral services were Tuesday in the LDS Plain City 3rd ward chapel with Bishop Layne Thompson officiating. Burial in the Plain City Cemetery.
