LAYTON - Richard Wheelon Bingham, age 67, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2001 at his residence of natural causes.

He was born March 13, 1934 in Ogden the son of Carl Wilford and Irma Burns Bingham.

He married DeLila Nye on March 3, 1961 in Elko, Nevada. They were later divorced. He married Betty Jacobsen on June 29, 1985 in Ogden.

Richard resided in Utah all his life. He lived in Clearfield, Clinton, Sunset, Ogden, and resided in Layton the last nine years. Richard graduated from Davis High School and Weber State College receiving a B.S. degree in engineering.

Richard served in the Navy during the Korean war.

Richard was a contracting officer at Hill Air Force Base retiring after 37 years of service.

He was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Pleasant Hills Ward in Layton Hills Estate.

Richard lived to fish, hunt, camp and loved all his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Lisa (Lisa) Bingham, AZ; Michelle Bingham, Ogden; Lesli (Joel) Hinz, Syracuse; Ogden; TeAnn Bingham, West Point; three stepsons, Nick (Kellie) Huntington, AZ; Mitch (Rhonda) Kawcak, TN; Darrell (Jennifer) Huntington, Utah; two stepdaughters, Suzette (Bill) Yaple, Nancy (Mike) Malais, AZ; 32 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, VaLoy Scott, Riverdale; Carolyn (Gary) Brown, Clinton; Marie(Larry) Gray, Roseville, MN: and Nancy (James) Glauser, Syracuse; serving a mission in Detroit, Michigan.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist"s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Bishop Scott Boman, Officiating.

Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.
