Veo W. Haws

OGDEN - Veo Wilson Haws, 89, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at a local care center of causes incident to age.

He was born December 4, 1915 in Elwood Utah, a son of Lorin Dean and Mary Evans Haws.

On October 14, 1936, Veo married Grace Kapp in the Salt Lake Temple. Grace preceded him in death on March 25, 2000.

He was a lifelong resident of Northern Utah.

Veo was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was a High Priest in the Orchard Stake.

He worked as a contractor, and for the federal government in many capacities. He was also an Ogden City Police Officer and a teacher for the Davis County School District.

Veo and Grace enjoyed dancing and attending church activities.

Surviving are two sons, Val V. Haws, Ogden; Jerry B. Haws, Mesquite, NV; one grandson and two granddaughters, Marty Haws, Jodell Haws, Jeri Lynn Brown, and seven great, grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters, five brothers and one grandson;

A viewing, combined with an informal service, will be held Saturday, December 20th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends and family will be sharing their memories during the viewing. All loved ones are encouraged to participate.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 22nd at 10 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Ogden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with special thanks from the family for the loving care rendered to Veo.
