Death Martha May Roberson Bingham

Funeral Services Scheduled For Martha Bingham

Funeral Services will be held, Friday at 1 p.m. in Maeser Ward chapel for Mrs. Martha May Roberson Bingham, 71, who died Monday at 8:30 a.m. at her home.

Friends may call at the Vernal Mortuary Thursday evening and at the family home in Maeser Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Mrs. Bingham was born October 14, 1887 in Moab, Utah, a daughter of John N. and Martha Ann Davenport Roberson. She married Lester Bingham In the Salt Lake LDS Temple, April 5, 1911.

She is survived by her husband; one son and two daughters, Victor L., Vernal; Mrs. Afton B. Stewart, New York City; Mrs. Veda B. Carter, Logan; 16 grandchildren. A son, Floyd R. of Cedar City preceded her In death, September 12, 1957. His widow, Barbara Ashby Bingham and five children still reside In that city.

Mrs. Bingham was a graduate of Grand County High School and received her normal degree In education at the University of Utah after having attended the BYU at Provo.

She was active In the LDS Church having served In the Ward YWMIA as president, for six years, ward organist, stake YWMIA board member, Relief Society chorister and other executive positions.

She has also held many positions in the Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society. At the time of her death she was acting assistant ward clerk of Maeser First Ward.
