Jesse Waite Owens

BRIGHAM CITY - Jesse Waite Owens, 77, Brigham City, died of a heart ailment Friday at his residence. Born Oct. 24, 1886, Willard Box Elder County, to Owen and Martha Ann Waite Owens. Married to Harriet Cox, Jan. 5 1910, Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Attended LDS Business College, Salt Lake City. Brigham City resident since 1917. Owned, managed Hollywood Candy Co. Box Elder County assessor. Filled two missions for LDS church, England, Southern States. Served on Sunday School Board in Box Elder Stake and served in presidency of the high priests quorum.

Survivors: widow, son, daughters, Col. Owen Waite, Mrs. Martha James Baron. both Formosa; Mrs. Emil (Uarda) Grasteit, Inglewood, California; Mrs. Vern (Nola) Kupfer, Provo; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Eliza O. White, Brigham City.
