Emil John Tvrdy, 75, longtime resident of Buhl, Idaho, now of Twin Falls, passed away Feb. 3, 2003, in Yuma, Arizona.

He was born December 29, 1927, in Buhl, Idaho, to Frank and Mary Kuise Tvrdy. He was born and raised on his family homestead south of Buhl and throughout his life he just moved up the road until November of 2001 when he moved to Twin Falls. He married Myrna Fife on November 17th, 1948 in Jerome, Idaho. They are the parents of 3 daughters.

Emil's entire life was devoted to agriculture and providing for his family. He was community oriented and, over the years, belonged td NFO (National Farmers Organization), Good Sammers, Kiwanis, and the Elks Lodge. Emil was also an officer in the National Guard in his early- married life. He loved to work with his hands, read, fish and travel. The purchase of a motor home later in life provided a lot of traveling opportunities for him and his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Myrna; three daughters, Vicky (Terry) Brown of Twin Falls, Idaho, Pam (Kevin) Hranac, and Terri (Dennis) Poulin both of Chandler, Ariz. three grandchildren, Jeremy (Cindy), Sarah, and Katelyn Brown of Twin Falls, Idaho and three step-grandchildren of Boise; two sisters, Helen Jardine of Wells, Nev., and Rose Anderson of Othello, Wash.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His parents, a half brother Otto, brother Eddy, and 2 sisters Alice Gier and Lillian Morgan preceded him in death

Funeral services for Emil will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday February 8th, 2003, at the 1st ward LDS Chapel at 847 Eastland Dr. N, in Twin Falls. Interment will follow at the Jerome Cemetery. Friends may call -from 6-8 p.m. today at the Reynolds Funeral Chapel, and from 9:45 to10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.

The family suggests that donations be made to the Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Donations may be left with funeral chapel staff or mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel P.O. Box 1142 Twin Falls, Idaho 83303-1142.
