Nellie May Smith
Riverdale- Mrs. Nellie May Smith, 72, of 5018 S. 1150 W., died Sunday in an Ogden rest home of natural causes. Mrs. Smith was born May 1, 1894, in Morgan, a daughter of George and Caroline Ager Compton. She was married to Conrad Alma Smith on Nov. 21, 1914, in Morgan. The marriage was latter solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Smith died Dec. 24, 1964 in Ogden. She had resided in Morgan as a girl and lived two years in Blackfoot, Idaho, before coming to the Ogden area. She had been a member of the Riverdale LDS Second Ward. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Harold (Neita) Christensen, Mrs. Thomas (Arliene) McGowan, Mrs. Sylvan (Carol) Cheshire, Mrs. James (Dot) Nyland, all of Ogden; Mrs. Frank (Beth) Turner, Mrs. William (Joyce) Weaver, both of Morgan, 23, grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters, George Compton, Ogden; John Compton, James Compton both of Morgan; Mrs. Sylvia Pack, Bountiful; Mrs. Leland (Rose) Tribe, Mrs. Norman (Afton) Kendall, both of Ogden; Mrs. Hubert (Leone) Christensen, Nyssa, Ore. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Lindquist and sons colonial chapel with Bishop Clinton L. Cutler of the Riverdale Second Ward conducting. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday until services. Burial in Washington Height-Memorial Park.
