Annie R. Compton

MORGAN - Mrs. Annie Rogers Compton, 73, of Morgan, died Wednesday in an Ogden nursing home after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Compton was born Nov 18, 1903, in Evanston, Wyo., a daughter of Alfred and Mary Shaw Rogers.

She was married to John A. Compton on Sept. 1, 1926, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She had lived in Croydon, Ogden and Idaho before moving to Morgan.

She was a graduate of Weber College and had been a school teacher.

She was a member of the Morgan 1st LDS Ward and, had served as a Sunday School teacher and organist Primary teacher, stake Relief Society secretary and Relief Society visiting teacher.

Surviving are her husband of Morgan; three daughters, Miss Rosella compton; Mrs. Neil (Cherril) Grose, both of Morgan; Mrs. Bradley (LouJean) Paul, Woods Cross; six grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Wilford Rogers, Tremonton; Vern S. Rogers, Bountiful.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Morgan 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop John C. Johnson officiating.

Friends may call et me Walker Mortuary in Morgan Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. Burial In the South Morgan Cemetery, directed by Rogers Mortuary In Tremonton.
