Grace B. Compton

MORGAN- Mrs. Grace Child Burnett Compton, 74, or Morgan, died Thursday, May 8, 1980, at her home after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Compton was born April 26, 1906, in Clinton, Utah, a daughter of Myron Barber and Caroline Carlsen Child.

She was married to Myron Leon Burnett on Nov. 24, 1925, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Sept. 7, 1931. She was married to James Warwick Compton on July 12, 1935, in Farmington, Utah.

She was reared in Clinton and lived most of her life in Morgan.

She worked many years in the Morgan School District lunch program.

She was an active member of the Morgan 1st LDS Ward. She had served in the Primary for over 20 years and had served on the Morgan Stake Primary Board. She was a Sunday School teacher for 17 years. She was an active member of the Morgan Senior Citizens committee for several years.

Surviving are her husband of Morgan: two sons and one daughter, LaMar C. Burnett, Ojai, Calif.; L. Kent Burnett, Centerville; Mrs. Ronald(Annette) Ercanbrack, Bountiful; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters, Myron B. Child, Clinton; Mark C. Child, Huntsville, Ark.; Mrs. Hazel C. Toone, Morgan; Mrs. Neta C. Hoggan, Logan; Mrs. Ruth C. Rogers, Bountiful.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Morgan 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Lyle Tucker officiating.

Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Burial in the Ogden City Cemetery.
